Replacing shocks/struts on my 90 st

Im planning on replacing my shocks/struts in a few weeks with some kyb gr2's. Ill be doing it at home cause the shops gave me estimates at over $600 just for labor. The car just hit 230k miles and im just wondering if you guys think there is anything else I should also replace in that area since I will already have it apart cause im really just trying to make this car last. if your springs are feeling soft you can replace those. strut boots and bumps stops tend to where out and deteriorate so you can replace those. those are just some minor things. the only other major things around there are ball joints, brake lines, wheel bearings and brakes so if any of those need replacing you can do them at the same time. good luck!

yeah $600 is a joke..if I had some extra cash I would get the megan coilovers for the price of $850 on ebay free shipping (states)...i need to change mine too. my rear are KYBs but I still here the thump sound at the rear after replacing mount/boot/assembly. ive no idea what cause that sound. I changed the sway bar links as well..still the thud/thump sound. the sound goes away when I am on high speed/highway

R those KYB grey in color or BLACK in color?

Im getting the kyb's off ebay and the picture shows them as grey, but this is just a stock picture and in the description it lists them as KYB Exel-G Gr-2, i just read your post about the switch from japan to usa so im having second thoughts about them. I just sent the seller message regarding the color so ill let you know when i find out. Although i would love to get coilovers I'm not trying to drop too much into this car cause im just trying to keep it around long enough to save up for a 240sx. And im not sure if its just shot shocks or bad springs, but every little bump makes me cringe cause i feel like its all being absorbed by the tire (which is pretty small).
also does anyone know if these boots will work on both the front and rear, cause the identical looking Gabriel ones are listed as being both front and rear, but are more expensive

i've got the same kybs off of ebay. they don't make the gray gr2s anymore. they're black excel-g's. i think they're very good and have a good price.

that will be the cheapest for KYB, u should b fine with those. Also try checking ur bushings or all ur rubber suspension maybe they're shot n that's y u hear that noise could be??

I replaced the rear with KYBs and they are grey 5 months ago. the whole assembly.
I want to ask you, I think my passenger front struts are going low, do I need to get the strut cartridge or the whole assembly? please advise. to me the assembly looks fine.
