Default what is this part?

Hey all, on my 88gt I had a clip/hose break off of a sensor on the water inlet pipe. What is this blue sensor called, and what purpose does the missing hose have for the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The VVT valve, cap the broken line and the top of the valve or you may experience symptoms of a vacuum leak.

Basically it is a generic vacuum valve. I fooled with mine and it never seemed to do anything so I left all the hoses hooked to it just in case.

What does vvt stand for? I'd rather replace the part if I can find one. I greatly appreciate your help.

I don't remember off the top of my head. The vacuum diagram on my RA64 said VVT and has that exact same part.
I can assure you it isn't Variable Valve Timing. I think it is Variable Vacuum "....." I forgot the last word

I "think" this vacuum line is for the heater control door. Does that sound right?

I'm still in the dark. I haven't taken it to 88mph yet to see if it takes me to the eighties.
