I have a 1993 celica gt convertible. and the roof is starting to need attention. so i bought the toyota convertible supplement for about 25$ on E-Gay. I strongly suggest you get that. the are many many steps, hidden bolts, precise measurments...
When you do this all year, you probably dont need it. but for a first time diy like ourselves. i strongly suggest you get that. because screwing up a roof would be a big shame on such a nice car, and probably very expensive replacment parts too ( bent mechanism, thorn roof... )
also, if the rest of the roof is starting to show signs of wear. i could be a good idea to replace the whole thing. i have looked around and find that this seller seems like quality. everything is precut and needs no stitching or anything. just plain install. expect about 1500$ to 2000$ for a quality unit ( everything included. it's expensive compared to some cheap ebay sellers. but it,s a quality roof ( Haartz Stayfast Canvas , not cheap fabric or vinyl )
