so i want to drop a turbo into my 87 5 speed and i know i need to do more things to it before i can just through a turbo kit into it. do i need to get my ecu tuned or should i swap it out with a different ecu?

Good luck finding either one, they were around $1600 before AEM discontinued them.

better off swaping to a 3sgte. yes the gts came with the 3sge but you have higher compression pistons and all the sensors for the NA application. for the price of a turbo kit you could get a turbo motor. and aem ecu was more like 2,000 (i hava one), check out koracing they specialise in mr2 turbos but as we all know the celica and mr both have the 3s series motor in it.
