Knocking usually means you need a rebuild or engine replacement.

Whether it is rod knock or valve tap, it is grim news for you.

If the knocking gets louder the more power you put on it, then yeah, it sounds like the rod is knocking, could be a spun bearing, or it could be the whole rod.

In any case, you need to do an engine tear down to fix it and if you put it in a shop for the repair, it will cost you a pretty penny.

hmm i have a similar issue but its weird it rattles only while i drive if i rev in nuetral it doesnt. rattle isnt consistent either. if i drive the car in the beginning after a cold start you cant really hear it until the car warms up more. usually i hear it at 3,000 rpm note noise isnt consistent from what i can hear with music off and windows down

There might be a internal problems that is why there is this knocking sound, you may need to have a general overhaul.

id just go with a general overhaul, Its not as hard as people think well not to me anyways. but if your inside the motor if you chose to upgrade might as well do some parts here and there and DO NOT skip out on the good product rather than the bad cheap ones. just my opinion
