Default Strange Engine noise

Noticed it when I bought it, didn't think much of it. But I don't know as it's supposed to sound like this.

My GT-S, when in neutral, sounds fine. Revving it sounds fine. In gear, and while driving and giving it gas, it makes a strange sound. The only way I can describe it is if you had water in a tin can, and blew air in it with a straw, the bubble noise it makes. It obviously sounds more harsh than that.

Maybe more like a tin can being crumpled up over and over.

Again, this doesnt happen in neutral at all, only in gear and only when giving it gas.

What do.

If it were an exhaust leak, wouldn't it make the same noise in neutral?

EFI engines behave differently in different situations.
The sound will get much louder when under load.

But like I said, even when revving out of gear, no noise occurs. It only happens in gear. Either way I'll check it out tomorrow.

Since you manifold is cracked, now is a great time to upgrade to a stainless steel header. OBX and DC make good ones, or you could just get a ebay one and call it a day. It will be cheaper than buying a new OEM manifold, plus you get a little bump in torque.
