My left brake light on my Toyota Celica SX 1990 has stopped working, and (assuming that its the bulb that has broken) I cant figure out how to open the panel (or which panel to open for that matter) to get to the bulb.
There is a little piece of plastic which is just above the brake light which you can pull out to reveal a screw, and I removed that but I am not sure wether to try and force out the whole light panel, or wether I have to get to the panel through the boot.

I would appreciate any help on removing this panel.

Thanks,
Thorin

is it for a coupe or hatch? *you need to remove the taillight assembly to access the bulb, but the procedures to do this are different for the coupe and hatch.

I am pretty sure its a coupe, although I cannot seem to tell the difference between the two. I bought mine second hand, so I am not exactly sure if its a coupe or a hatchback, but I am pretty sure its a coupe.

How can the light panel be removed, assuming it was a coupe?

if it's a hatch, the rear window comes up when you open the trunk. *if it's a coupe the rear window stays where it is and only the trunk lid pops open, visually you can tell the difference by looking at the pictures j provided.

if it's a coupe, open the trunk lid and look at the rear inside panel. *there are (or should be) holes cut out in the panel that give you access to 10mm nuts that retain your taillights. *there are more in the rear compartments where your jack is initially kept. *there *should* be three nuts per taillight, but if there are more, just take a look at how the taillight fits and look around the interior for where the nuts might be holding it on.

if it's a hatch, then i don't know
