Default New but not lazy, advice

So I bought a 95 celica sx 2.2 manual (Australian so I don't no what my model would be equal to others) and I've found myself wanting to make more of this car. Within 5 minutes of research I found that I was getting a 3s-gte motor. My question is, are there parts I can replace now that would still be ideal for this motor so I don't have to double handle ( and double dip in the hip pocket). I want to push this car like my old xr6 and I'm an avid driver just started as a stupid teen who bought the gear but had no idea lol. I want to learn now . So, at the risk of sounding lazy, where the **** do I start lol?

I know some parts work for both but if you are planning on doing a 3sgte swap then I would just work on your suspension and everything else first. Make sure your trans is good because you can reuse that in the swap.

Thanks yeh I was thinking just doing suspension/tyres however there's a kind of whirring/soft grind when I switch to fourth and I can notice a drop in power. Looking at a full conditioning just to be safe. What kind of suspension do you recommend. Moneys not too much of a problem since I knew I was going to spend a bit of money on this car lol.

well for a decent price you can get new struts and lowering springs for about $400 or if you got about $1000 you can get adjustable coilovers which are really good. for the grind during the shift it could be your synchros. I would use up this trans until the swap and either rebuild it or buy a new one. good luck!

Haha sounds good. I'll have to look into some brands. Thanks for the advice
