Default Rim/Tire Combination

Hi Forum,

I am in need of some educated advice regarding wheel size.

I am looking at a set of 18x7.5 rims with 45 offset, and will be wrapping them in 215/35/18 tires.

All my suspension is OEM, should I be worried about tire rub or anything else I haven't thought of yet?

Also, I have heard the "big wheels for show, small wheels for go" over and over. How much torque am I going to sacrifice going from my 16s to 18s?

Thanks in advance for the help!

should be fine with the oem suspension. you'll lose some acceleration but most likely not much. you will have more grip and handling will change too.

Great, thanks a lot! When you say handling will change, in what way do you mean?

it will be better. take corners better and gives you better traction even in the rain!. You'll feel the road more so bumps and potholes won't be absorbed well since your tires will be so thin.

Linden, I'm glad you posted this! I'm looking for wheels for my 2000 Celica (also OEM suspension). I'm just now becoming familiar with offsets and fittment and such...I know I want 17s, but I'm not sure what I want as far as offset or tires. I want to keep OEM suspension if I can. Does anyone have any suggestions, or what does everyone else run on their 7th Gens? Thanks!
