Default Make Your Own Custom Shift Knob

You can make your own manual shift knob out of almost anything.
Go to NAPA or similar and buy a set of 12mmx1.25 threaded lugnuts.
(Balkamp #BK7352181 is a set of 4 for under $20)
Drill out your object a little larger than the nut then fill halfway with epoxy.
Insert the lugnut and let it set up. You get 4 lugnuts so I suggest you practice on something before your favorite for depth and amount of epoxy.
See pictures. I made this softball knob for my daughter as a Christmas present. It has worked well for over 9 months now without coming loose.

Enjoy,
IndyAndy

This is the fist custom piece I made for my 7th gen.I milled on a vertical mill with a rotary table from a 2"square bit of billet stock I found in a car at my wrecking yard and finished it on our new lathe.
